Abstract

This research aimed to study the factors affecting and the effects of forest area management in Bantumtalot community, Aow Aye Yor forest area. This study used qualitative research methodology to collect data from relevant research papers and field data. Participant observation and non-participant observation as well as in-depth interviews were used and data were classified by conclusive issues. The results of this study indicated that the factors affecting forest management in the Bantumtalot community in the Aow Aye Yor forest area were as follows: 1. Participation in Aow Aye Yor forest area management of Bantumtalot community. 2. Promotion of the potential of the Bantumtalot community in the Aow Aye Yor forest area management area. 3. Raising awareness and consciousness in the area. 4. The development of participation in the community. 5. The establishment of a process to develop the community. 6. Disseminating information to the public in the area, and 7. Creating a network group in the community. The effects of forest management in the area were as follows: 1. The creation of a body of knowledge. 2. The creation of a master plan, and 3. The creation of a public network group. The affects of all these activities could result in overall success of the community.
