Abstract
This research entitled Factor Analysis and state of the Implementation
of Islamic Ethics in Iqra Muslim School, Bangkok is aimed to 1) analyze components of
Islamic Ethics of affiliated schools of Iqra Muslim School Bangkok, 2) study the state of
the implementation of Islamic Ethics in Iqra Muslim School, Bangkok. The Samples
consisting of 173 people were divided into 2 groups. The first group selected for
exploratory analysis consisted of 148 administrators, teachers, and officials of affiliated
schools of Iqra Muslim School that used the Maktab Islamic Studies Curriculum. The
second group, comprising 25 samples, was used for a study on the state of the
Implementation of Islamic Ethics in Iqra Muslim School, Bangkok. Mixed-methods
research, which combines quantitative research methods and qualitative research
methods was used in this study. Questionnaires were employed to address the first
research objective. Data obtained from questionnaires were analyzed using Principal
Component Analysis – PCA and Factor Extraction. The questions for focus group
discussion served as the research instrument used to address the second research
objective. The data obtained from group discussions were analyzed using content
analysis.
The results of the research indicate that components of Islamic Ethics
of affiliated schools of Iqra Muslim School Bangkok consist of 6 components with 30
indicators. Of these Adalah with 6 indicators, Syura with 6 indicators, Itqan with 5
indicators, Amanah with 5 indicators, Muraqabah with 4 indicators, and Ikhlas with 4
indicators. The components are found to be reliable and the internal consistency is
very high. The results of the qualitative research found that Iqra Muslim School
Bangkok operates in an Islamic environment that focuses on Islam as the base of
management (Islamic Based Management). Under this environment, the school
enables to forge a bond between its administrators, teachers, staff, and personnel by
encouraging them (targheeb) to see the value of their work by expecting to gain the
satisfaction of Allah Ta'ala, hoping for merit and success both in this world and the
next world. Positive encouragement was provided through hadiyah (reward). Clear
religious and general policies were set in the school. Members of the school set their
goals together which were to create an excellent nation (Ummah al-wustaa). In
addition, the school's focus on personnel development, work instruction, work
distribution, and continuous follow-up work was also apparent. There is a system for
the disbursement of materials, equipment, and various budgets, a system for checking,
summarizing the work, and evaluating the work clearly. All these systems were run
through predominant activities and practices that encourage everyone to appreciate
the value of the identity of being an Islamic school.
