Abstract

The objective of this experimental study employing randomized Solomon four-group design was to determine the influence of a self-awareness program for reducing aggressive behavior of an experimental group and a control group with a test and without a test before the experiment. Interactions between the self-awareness program and test given before the experiment were examined to determine their influence on aggressive behavior change. The sample group consisted of 44 Prathom Sueksa 5 students of Chaeng Witthaya School, Songkhla Province in the academic year 2017 selected through lot drawing. The subjects were divided into two groups: 22 subjects in the experimental group to participate in the self-awareness program, and 22 subjects in the control group to give information about self-awareness. Data were collected from the test given before and after the experiment using an aggressive behavioral assessment form. The statistics used in data analysis were mean, standard deviation, independent sample t-test and two-way ANOVA. The study found that the self-awareness program had statistically significant influence at the level of .05 on aggressive behavioral change among Prathom Sueksa 5 students who were tested and who were not tested before participating in the self-awareness program. The self-awareness program had statistically significant influence at the level .01 on aggressive behavioral change among Prathom Sueksa 5 students while the test given before the experiment did not affect aggressive behavioral change among Prathom Sueksa 5 students.
