Abstract
The objectives of this study were 1) to study the factors affecting the performance of personnel of the Public Health Office, Hat Yai City Municipality; 2) to compare the performance of personnel of the Public Health Office, Hat Yai City Municipality by personal factors and 3) to study the motivation factors affecting the performance of personnel of the Public Health Office, Hat Yai City Municipality. In this study, quantitative research method was used. The population was a total of 976 officers of the Public Health Office, Hat Yai City Municipality and a questionnaire was used as a research instrument in collecting data from 300 officers. The statistics used in data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, and multiple regression analysis.
The results showed that 1) the performance of personnel of the Public Health Office, Hat Yai City Municipality was at a high level, in which the performance in terms of quality of work ( = 4.08) showed the highest average score, followed by time ( = 3.94), while throughput ( = 3.88) showed the lowest average score; 2) the comparison of performance of the personnel of the Public Health Office, Hat Yai City Municipality by personal factors showed that the officers with different position, year of service and monthly income had difference in performance at a statistical significance level of 0.05 and 3) the work motivation factors that showed significant effects on the performance of personnel at a statistical significance level of 0.05, in descending order, were responsibility ( = 0.400), job descriptions ( = 0.154), recognition ( = 0.152) and career progression ( = 0.108). According to the findings, the Public Health Office, Hat Yai City Municipality should improve its work system by reducing redundancy and resource costs in order to increase the performance of the personnel of the Public Health Office, Hat Yai City Municipality, Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province.
