Abstract
Routine to Research provides a major contribution towards the guideline for the
improvements of productivity, employees and organization. The purposes of this correlative descriptive
research were to examine 1) the levels of creating an organizational climate for routine to research by
nursing administrators, 2) the level of research performance of nurses, and 3) the relationship between
creating an organizational climate for routine to research and research performance. The sample comprised
212 nurses of 6 Bangkok Dusit Medical Service hospitals who had at least 3 years’ experience. The research
tools were questionnaires covering 1) demographic information and research experience 2) the
organizational climate for routine to research, applying the Marsick and Watkins model of an effective
learning organization, and 3) nurses performance, The content validity of questionnaires 2 and 3 were
approved by three experts, with a CVI of 0.91 for each, and reliability was tested using Cronbach’s alpha
coefficient yielding values of 0.98 and 0.90 respectively. The data were analyzed using frequency,
percentage, mean, standard deviation and Spearman rank correlation coefficient.
The overall mean score of creating an organizational climate for routine to research by
nursing administrators was at a moderate level (M= 3.35, SD= 0.86), the research performance was at the
lower level (M= 1.43, SD= 2.44), and the relationship between creating an organizational climate for routine
to research by nursing administrators and research performance of nurses showed a positive correlation at
a medium level (𝑟𝑠= 0.32, P< 0.01)
