Abstract

This research aims to 1) develop an Open Approach lesson plan for the subject At-Tarikh (Islamic History) focusing on the Umayyad Dynasty of Andalus, 2) enhance students' analytical thinking skills after using an Open approach, and 3) compare the learning outcomes before and after applying the Open Approach. The sample consisted of 22 first-year senior high school students in Islamic Studies, selected through simple random sampling. Research instruments included 6 Open Approach lesson plans covering 12 hours, a 30-item analytical thinking skills test, and a student's Reflective Writing. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a t-test. The research findings revealed that 1) the developed Open Approach lesson plan was evaluated by three experts, showing a very high level of appropriateness (Mean = 4.91), 2) students demonstrated a good level of analytical thinking skills after learning, with an average score of 16.27 (54.23%), covering components of importance analysis, relationship analysis, and principle analysis, and 3) Students achieved significantly higher post-test scores compared to their pre-test scores at a statistical significance level of .05?????????????????????????????? 1) ???????????????????????????????? ?????????????????
