Abstract

This study aimed to 1) analyze the components of place-based leadership among educational administrators in the pilot innovation schools of the three southern border provinces of Thailand 2) examine the level of place-based leadership in accordance with the social and cultural context for each component. This survey research employed the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) method. The sample consisted of 564 administrators and teachers from pilot innovation schools in the southern border provinces, selected from a total population of 6,743 individuals using proportional stratified random sampling. The research instrument was a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire with a reliability coefficient of 0.968. The statistical methods employed for data analysis included the mean, standard deviation, and principal component analysis using Varimax rotation.The results revealed that the components of place-based leadership among educational administrators in the innovation area consisted of three main factors 1) deep listening and responsive problem-solving within the local context 2) integration of learning with local culture and context, and 3) development of learning connected to the community.
