Abstract

The objectives of this research were to 1) study learning management with an open approach that promotes competencies in data interpretation and use of scientific evidence for Grade 5 Students under Yala Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, 2) investigate the satisfaction towards learning management with open approach in science and 3) study the science learning achievement after knowledge management of open approach. The research was conducted by one-group pretestposttest design. The knowledge management tools in the research were 1) 6 knowledge management plans with an open approach that employed 13 hours in learning management for data collecting, 2) competency questionnaire on data interpretation and use of evidence in science, 3) science learning achievement test on water and 4) Satisfaction questionnaire of students towards the open learning management that promotes the ability to interpret data and use evidence in science. The result indicated that: 1) The students with knowledge management of open approach were encouraged with competencies in data interpretation and using evidence in science after learning management. It was found that the mean was 58.13 that presented the third level of competence. There was a statistical significance level of .01 and when taking each score in all aspects found that the aspect with the highest average score was aspect 1, converting the data presentation into another form (1.23). The aspect with the lowest average score was the aspect 5, assessment of scientific arguments and evidence from various sources (0.37).2) The students with knowledge management of open approach were satisfied at high level ((𝑋̅ =3.93). The open approach can increase attention of student in learning and can be applied in everyday life. 3) After knowledge management of open approach, it shows that students are higher scores and level of academic achievements in science of Grade 5 than the previous score and level with a statistically significant level of .01.
