Abstract

This study aims to 1 ) study operational conditions 2 ) activities and services that promote lifelong learning 3) analyze guidelines for library development of Prince of Songkla University to be a promoting library for lifelong learning in the online media age.Thestudy is done using qualitative research methods to collect data by observing and learning from in-depth documents and interviewing informants which consist of 5 university's administrators and Khunying Long Athakravisunthorn Learning Resources Center administrators, 20 librarians and library staffs, and 25users. The analyze processes are conducted by categorize data, interpretation, draw conclusions and present the findings in a portrayal analytical way. The results show that 1) The operational conditions are conducive to promoting lifelong learning in the online media era with the readiness of information resources, human resources, and physical structure as well as a strong cooperation network. 2) The activities and services that support lifelong learning are in many kinds of events and services. They provide both online and printed resources in wide range of disciplines. 3) The development guidelines are the transition from a former library to a living library by making efficient use of space and resources based on education and in-depth analysis to create various kind of knowledge sharing spaces which aim to encourage the creation of knowledge, research and innovations and leads to the development of people, organization, and society.The encouragement of using online media helps the organization meet the needs of users. The more proactive activities and services. It also helps building a partnership of campus libraries and make a strong collaborative network to share more resources.
