Abstract

The purposes of this research were to study work stress of the police officer in the southern border provinces: a case study of mueang Narathiwat police station. The objectives were 1.) To study the stress level of police officer. 2.) To analyze individuals factors which correlated with the stress. The example groups were 188 police officers in Narathiwat Police Station from stratified random sampling method. The research tools were 3 – point rating scale questionnaires. The data were analyzed using Mean, Standard Deviation and Chi-Square Test. The result showed that the work stress level of the police officer in the southern border provinces: a case study of mueang Narathiwat police station which its overall stress was occasionally. The correlation in the work stress as distinguished by individual factors, reported that the education, hometown, the number of bad situations for 2 years in the area and the willingness to do the job correlated with the work stress significantly at .05. Sex, age, income, religion, status, position level and the duration of working in the area have not correlated with the work stress significantly at .05.
