Abstract

This research was the research and development (R&D). There were 3 objectives as follows; 1) to develop a Small Private Online Course (SPOC) with Learner-Centered Activities Based on Constructivist to enhance Thai language ability for international students in higher education, 2) to compare the Thai language ability of international students in higher education after learning with the Small Private Online Course (SPOC) with Learner Centered Activities Based on Constructivist with the 60 percent criteria, and 3) to investigate the international students� satisfaction with the Small Private Online Course (SPOC) with Learner-Centered Activities Based on Constructivist. This research investigated the post-test for only one target group. The target group was 9 purposive sampling Chinese students who studied the Thai language at a basic level. The research instruments included 1) a lesson plan, 2) the Small Private Online Course (SPOC) with Learner-Centered Activities Based on Constructivist, 3) a Thai language ability test for international students, and 4) a satisfaction questionnaire. The data were evaluated by statistics including mean, standard deviation, percentage, and t-test. The findings revealed that 1) the Small Private Online Course (SPOC) with Learner-Centered Activities Based on Constructivist to enhance Thai language ability for international students in higher education has the high quality (M = 4.48, S.D. = 0.57) 2) the Thai language ability of international students in higher education after learning with the Small Private Online Course (SPOC) with Learner-Centered Activities Based on Constructivist (M = 86.36, S.D. = 4.20, Min = 80.60, Max = 93.00) at a significantly higher level than the standard of 60% at a statistical significance level of .01, t(8) = 18.83, p < .001, and 3) the international students in higher education satisfaction was the high level. (M = 4.92, S.D. = 0.19)
