Abstract
The purposes of this research include 1. to study the personal factors of the government officials affecting the job motivation in Pattani, 2. to examine the factors and motivations affecting the job motivation in Pattani from the unrest situation in Southern border provinces, and 3. to investigate the attitudes of the government officials towards the unrest situation in Southern border provinces affecting the job motivation in Pattani. This research is quantitative research utilizing a questionnaire to gather information from a sample group of 186 government officials in Pattani. The data was analyzed by proposing the analysis of descriptive statistics, consisting of frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. Moreover, the inferential statistics were analyzed by employing one-way ANOVA in t-test and f-test.
The result of the research indicated that the government officials who are members of the Department of Provincial Administration in Pattani reported the level of job motivation as follows: career success factor in a very high level, acceptance factor in a very high level, job description factor in a very high level, responsibility factor in a very high level, career advancement factor in a very high level, salary factor in a very high level, relationship with supervisors factor in a very high level, occupational status factor in a very high level, relationship with colleagues factor in a very high level, policy and administration factor in a very high level, work security factor in a very high level, and personal livelihood factor in a very high level. Additionally, while the level of the attitude towards the unrest situation in Southern border provinces was at a very high level, there are five problems needed to be dealt with to truly solve the problems of the insurgency long-term were commented, namely narcotics control; career and income advancement; fair law enforcement, unbiased judgment, and justified process of judgment; adjustment in education to be more suitable with the lifestyle and culture of the local people; and extermination of smuggling gangs. Therefore, the Department of Provincial Administration is suggested to improve self-esteem in the officials by spreading the outstanding works from selected officials in every position for moral improvement in the government officials employed in the Southern border provinces.
