Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to study the level of motivation and work efficiency of employees and study motivation affecting work efficiency of employees of the Provincial Electricity Authority Area 3 (South) with different ages through the motivational factors together with the hygiene factors. This is a survey through an online questionnaire to collect data from a sample of 322 sets and analyze the relationship between the variables in the form of a Multiple Regression Analysis. According to research, each generation of employees has different positive motivations. The Baby Boomer generation shows positive behavior in their relationships with colleagues. In the section of Generation X, employees are positively motivated to perform at work in terms of job description, responsibility, supervisor relations, and colleague relationship. In the part of Generation Y, employees are positively motivated to their performance in terms of work achievement, responsibility, and colleague relationship. However, motivation can have a negative effect on Generation X performance in the progress factor. To sum up, it can be concluded that most employees focus on the motivation factors for job success and job characteristics. Therefore, organizations should develop policies that emphasize the importance of employee training such as provide effective training courses for employees to ensure that work outcomes meet the same standards or provide courses on various skills needed for development work. In addition, employee promotion should consider fairness and use operational information as a consideration criterion. Also executives should encourage employees to carry out various activities together to realize dialogue, exchange and learn from each other's work experience, and further strengthen the work incentives for employees.
