Abstract
The objectives of this study were to explore the management of Friend of Women Foundation and gender equality in Songkhla Province; to investigate management factors of Friend of Women Foundation affecting gender equality in Songkhla Province; and to find out guidelines for strengthening gender equality in Songkhla Province using mixed methods research. In Phase 1 qualitative methods were used to analyze management of Friend of Women Foundation in Songkhla Province using in-depth interview and applied Delphi techniques as tools to collect data from 11 experts who responded three rounds of Delphi questions until opinions of all the experts achieved consensus. Phase 2 was quantitative research to analyze management factors of Friend of Women Foundation affecting gender equality using a questionnaire to collect data from 160 subjects. Then, multiple linear regression analysis was performed using R to find out all forms of management factors of Women Foundation affecting gender equality and the last form of management factors of Friend of Women Foundation affecting gender equality. Phase 3 was quantitative research to find out methods of strengthening gender equality in Songkhla Province using focus group discussions and review of related documents and research reports. Then a report was written with descriptive analysis.
The results of the study on the management of Friend of Women
Foundation and gender equality in Songkhla Province were as follows. The data collected in Phase 1 revealed five aspects of management: transactional leadership, participation, organizational competency, work practices, and networking. For gender equality, three aspects found were: occupation, family, and information dissemination. The data collected in Phase 2 revealed three factors affecting gender equality in Songkhla Province: participation, organizational competency, and networking. These factors have led to reinforcement of gender equality in Songkhla Province for women to have the same rights and equality as men.
