สภาพการปรับตัวของครอบครัวมุอัลลัฟในชุมชนมุสลิมเขตบางกะปิ กรุงเทพมหานคร: กรณีศึกษามัสยิดยามิอุ้ลมุตตะกีน (ลำสาลี)

Abstract

This research aimed to study 1) the adaption of the Mu'allaf family in the Muslim community of Jami Ulmuttakin Mosque (Lam Sali), Bangkapi District, Bangkok; 2) the problems and obstacles in the adaptation of the Mu'allaf family in the Muslim community of Jami Ulmuttakin Mosque (Lam Sali), and 3) Suggest guidelines for helping and improving the quality of life of the Mu'alluf family in Muslim society. Data was collected using a qualitative research method from case studies of 14 Mu'aluf using in-depth interviews, observations, and field recordings. Analyze the data by content analysis, categorize the main points, and present the results of the descriptive studies. The results showed that the adaptation to being a Muslim of the Mu'allaf family was divided into 5 aspects: 1) Faith aspect; faith is strengthened through studying the Quran, practicing prayer, and learning religious teaching. 2) Customs and religious ceremonies aspect; adjustments have been made to remain able to participate in the social activities of the previous family within limits permitted by religion. 3) Relationship aspect; there was an understanding and compromise to maintain the relationship with the previous family. 4) Personality aspect; the behaviors, expressions, etiquette, and personality were adjusted in accordance with religious teachings. And 5) Aspects of lifestyle; they adapt to eating halal food, concealing their clothing, and living according to religious principles. However, it was found that the majority of the Mu'allaf struggled with all aspects of adjustment, particularly religious understanding, preserving relationships with previous families, transitioning to new families, and issues with practicing in accordance with religious principles. It is recommended that social and religious organizations work together to assist Mu'allaf and enhance their quality of life.
