Abstract
The study on factors affecting the work stress of employees of Trang City Municipality, Trang Province aimed to investigate work stress levels of employees of Trang City Municipality, Trang Province, to compare work stress levels of employees of Trang City Municipality, Trang Province classified according to personal factors, to find out job factors affecting work stress levels of employees of Trang City Municipality, Trang Province. A questionnaire was used to collect data from
270 employees of Trang City Municipality. The data were statistically analyzed with frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and multiple regression analysis.
The study found that work stress levels of employees of Trang City Municipality, Trang Province in terms of the job itself, the role and responsibility, and rewards were at moderate levels. The result of the comparison of the work stress levels of employees of Trang City Municipality, Trang Province classified according to personal factors which were gender, age, marital status, educational level, monthly income, length of service, and income sufficiency, revealed that work stress levels of the employees were different but without statistical significance at the level 0.05. Three job factors affecting the work stress levels of employees of Trang City Municipality, Trang Province from the most to the least effects were rewards, the job itself, and the role and responsibility, respectively.
