Abstract
The objectives of this experimental research were 1) to develop active learning applications for google classroom in improving the core competency of vocational students 2) to measure and assess the performance of the core competency of students who used the applications. The experiment applied a quota-based sample selection method. The tools used for data collection were a test and a core competency assessment form. The statistics used in the data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, Index of Item Objective Congruence (IOC), sample t-test (Difference Score). From the development for google classroom in improving the core competency of vocational students, it was found that the learning achievement of the control group was 12.95 points, the standard deviation was 1.66, the experimental group was 18.76 points, and the standard deviation was 0.77 out of 20 points. The result of t value was 14.57 and the Sig. value = 0.006 was less than the statistical significance level of 0.05. statistically significantly higher than the learners in the control group at the 0.05 level. The result of core competency assessment was 91.24 %, which was very good. When considering each aspects, it is found that the skills of collaboration and teamwork, had the highest percentage to 97.14 %, followed by creativity 90.48% and critical thinking and problem solving, communications, and computing & ICT literacy is 89.52 % respectively.
