Abstract

The study of “problems and obstacles in the operation of the village militias in Pattani Province” aimed to study of problems and obstacles in an operation of the village militias in Pattani Provinceand suggestions for solving obstacles and recommendations in the operation of the village militias in Pattani Province with personal factor. Sample groups were local village militias living in Saiburi Nongjik and Tungyangdaeng district, Pattani province, totally 370 persons. Data collection was performed by using questionnaire which were subsequently analyzed using percentage, mean, standard deviation and chi-square test. Results of the study found that the village militias in Pattani Province had problems and obstacles in on operation on manpower, management and morale aspects at a medium level, but Budget and material at a hight level. When ranked it was found that the largest obstacle was materials, followed by budget, morale and management. Manpower had problem and obstacle in on operation was the least level. Further analysis showed that the personal factors such as age, religion, career, and monthly income and period of working related to problems and obstacles in an operation of the village militias in Pattani Province with statistical significance. While the factors of sex had not related to problems and obstacles in an operation of the village militias in Pattani Province. Suggestion of the study the government should provide skills training, improve quality of life the village militias and procure materials and equipment that is modern and standard.
