Abstract

The purpose of this study was to study street food consumption behavior of consumers traveling to Songkhla Province.And to study demographic factors related to street food consumption behavior of consumers in Songkhla Province.By using a survey method using a questionnaire with a sample group of 400 Thai and foreign tourists who traveled to Songkhla and used street food services. The data was analyzed by using statistic, frequency, percentage and chi-square test. The finding revealed that most of the questionnaire respondents were male with ages more than 33 years old, domicile in other provinces, single, graduated with a bachelor’s degree, Occupation of civil servants/state enterprises and having average monthly incomes of less than 10,000 baht.For the consumption behaviors, the frequency of comsumption of most consumers was more than 5 times,with friend/lover,there are a number of co-consumer members,mostly alone,at 18.00-19.00 pm,by private car,the average expense was around 50-100 baht,the average time it takes to consumer is about 30 minutes-1 hour,the reason for choosing to eat street food is because it is convenient to buy,the type of street food in Songkhla province that most of the samples chose to consume was fried sea bass and the type of media that consumers receive information about roadside food service in Songkhla province is recommended by friends. Considering the relations between demographic factors and street food consumption behavior in Songkhla province, it was found that sex, age, domicile, marital status, Education level, occupation and average monthly income correated with street food consumption behavior.
