Abstract

In this research reported synthesis of molybdenum trioxides (MoO3) used for photocatalyst and electrochemical energy storage by hydrothermal method. MoO3 nanobelts as cathode materials for Li-ion batteries show an initial specific capacity of exhibit specific capacity at 1340 and 1250 mAhg-1for a current density of 100 and 400 mA/g. The effect of Eu, Gd and W doping on photocatalytic properties were studied. The phase, morphologies and optical properties of as-synthesized MoO3 were analyzed by XRD, Raman spectroscopy, SEM, TEM, SAED, HRTEM and UV–Vis spectroscopy, respectively. The photocatalytic activities of as-synthesized samples were investigated by degradation of methylene blue under visible light radiation. It found that the metal doped MoO3 has a higher photocatalytic efficiencies than MoO3
