The Ways of Earning Money for the University by the Support Staff: Case Study of Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai

Abstract
The study aims to 1.) investigate means and ways of earning money conducted by the support staffs at autonomous university: case study of Prince of Songkhla University (PSU), Hatyai Campus. 2.) investigate guidelines to improve support staffs’ skills to earn money from various means for their autonomous university 3.) study the use of information among the staffs of Prince of Songkhla University (PSU), Hatyai Campus to employ in earning money for the university. This is a mixed-method research which integrates qualitative and quantitative methods. The sample used in this study was a total of 364 support staffs at Prince of Songkhla University (PSU), Hatyai Campus, which were determined by Krejcie and Morgan Sampling Table. The researcher used the interview question form to sort out the information from the academic staffs and the support staffs as a total of 6 participants. Accordingly, the researcher used the questionnaire as a research tool to collect data. Using techniques of descriptive statistics, the researcher analyzed the data collected in terms of Percentage, Mean (M) and Standard Deviation (SD), Statistical Analysis, Pearson Correlation Coefficient (the level of statistical significance at p -value of 0.5), One-Way ANOVA (F-test), and Paired Sample T-Test by using Post-Hoc test or Least Significant Difference (LSD)
Findings are as follows: 1.) Motivation psychology experience, social activities, marketing knowledge, and sales and marketing expertise correlated with the staffs’ capability to earn money for their university. According to result of Pearson Correlation Coefficient analysis which was set between .01 to 05, Pearson Correlation Coefficient’s value was between .597 to .854 and p-value was .000. This has led to a conclusion that personal experience and the individual ability to earn money for the university through 4 means correlate with the level of capability to earn money for the university 2.) All participating support staffs from distinctive authorities employed different types of information in earning money for university. One Way ANOVA overall testing value was at 3.391 and statistical value was at .018.; thereby, Null Hypothesis (H0) was denied and the result could be summarized that support staffs from distinctive authorities employed different types of information in earning money for university.
