Abstract
This research aimed 1) to examine the level of the intention to stay in an organization of the employees in the construction business, 2) to compare opinions toward the intention to stay in an organization of the employees in the construction business which classify by personal factors, 3) to study the human resource management factors which human resource correlated with the intention to stay in an organization of the employees in the construction business. Samples were 385 employees who work in construction companies in Hatyai, Songkhla. In this research, frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-Test, F-Test with ANOVA, and Pearson’s product-moment correlation coefficient were used to analyze data.
The results revealed that majority of employees are females aged between 31 to 40 years old who graduated a bachelor degree, marriage, and mostly have been working in an organizations for more than five to 10 years. They rated human resource management factors in the construction business as the high level. The highest factors were the working environment, supervisor, and colleagues, respectively. On the other hand, three factors which had been rated moderately were advancement, compensation, and performance appraisal, respectively. Moreover, the employees rated their intention to stay with an organization at the high level.
In addition, employees who were different in age, education background, and work experience at the organization reported differently toward the intention to stay with an organization in the construction business as the statistically significant level at 0.05. Also, the human resource management factors had positive relationships with the intention to stay with an organization in the construction business as the statistically significant level at 0.05.
