Abstract

Abstract

This study has two main objectives. The first objective is to examine personal factors influencing non-monetary motivation for job application. The case study involves fourth-year students from the Faculty of Management Science, Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Campus. The second objective is to investigate the level of non-monetary motivation in selecting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for job application. The case study also involves fourth-year students from the Faculty of Management Science, Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Campus. The research methodology employed a quantitative approach, utilizing survey data collected from a sample group of 250 fourth-year students from the aforementioned faculty and campus, selected using the random sampling method with a margin of error of 0.05, employing the Cochran and Morgan formula. Data was gathered through questionnaires structured into two parts 1. Personal factors: gender, educational program, cumulative grade point average. 2. Level of non-monetary motivation in selecting SMEs for job application, consisting of 10 factors, analyzed using statistical techniques such as Independent T-Test and F-Test (One-Way ANOVA).The findings of this research indicate that personal factors such as gender, educational program, and cumulative grade point average among fourth-year students from the Faculty of Management Science, Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Campus, do not significantly differ in their non-monetary motivation for selecting SMEs for job application. This suggests that students with similar non-monetary motivation tend to have similar preferences for SMEs, resulting in no significant difference in non-monetary motivation. Additionally, the study reveals that the level of non-monetary motivation in selecting SMEs for job application is highest for factors such as growth opportunities for employees, workplace autonomy, and job characteristics, in that order. These factors are deemed highly significant in motivating individuals to choose SMEs for employment. Furthermore, the research identifies other important factors affecting non-monetary motivation in selecting SMEs for job application, including employee development promotion, organizational employee policies, coworker relationships, recruitment processes, organizational image, convenience of transportation, and societal reputation of the organization, respectively.
