Abstract

Nowadays, there are various e-shopping websites that make our life convenient and comfortable. However, when using some websites, we may encounter negative phenomena that prevent us from achieving the desired goals or receiving ineffective interactions. For example, websites show incorrect results with different screen resolutions. Also, when you press the navigation link there are no results displayed or erroneous results are displayed instead, that prevents us from going to the desired webpage. These problems are known as “usability problem” causing dissatisfaction when using those websites. Therefore, e-shopping websites should be validated and evaluated before deploying. This thesis proposes a method for evaluating usability problems by using evaluation questionnaires. The usability problems were designed based on the important features of e-shopping websites. These important features were determined by considering buyer's decision-process principles. Then, the usability problems and evaluation questionnaires were evaluated with the e-shopping websites. The results show that the designed usability problems and evaluation questionnaires are practical. In addition, this questionnaire evaluation method was developed into a web application as a tool for evaluating e-shopping websites.
