Abstract
This study aimed to examine the states of Maktap Islamic studies curriculum administration of Darulbarakah school, Pattani province and to propose guidelines for Maktap Islamic studies curriculum administration of the school. This qualitative study applied an approach called a case study. The data was collected through interviews and focus groups and questionnaire. The key informants consist 2 from school administrators, 3 religiousus academic department staff, a participant from Tarbiyah department and 9 Islamic Studies teachers, totaling 15 participants. The data was analyzed based on content analysis and percentage. The findings of this study are as follows: 1( In general, the Maktap Islamic Studies curriculum is well operated whether in terms of the curriculum preparation, the curriculum implementation plan and the curriculum administration. Rather, teachers have good understanding of the curriculum. However, there are some problems encountered especially in terms of supervision, monitoring, follow-up and evaluation. 2( In regard to guidelines for development of the Maktap Islamic studies curriculum, the problems mostly encountered are concerned with supervision, monitoring, following-up and evaluation. Those in charge of religious academic affairs and Tarbiyah program are not able to carry out supervision in the same time. The proposed guideline then is to appoint those equipped with knowledge and expertise in Islamic studies curriculum and supervision to be specifically responsible for supervising Islamic studies for the most efficient operation.
