Abstract

This study is action research. The objectives of the study are to: 1) develop and determine the efficiency value of teachers’ training package on skills for creating an integrated learning package for Islamic studies with science subjects, which was developed through participatory means; 2) study the results of using teachers’ training package on skills for creating an integrated learning package for Islamic studies with science subjects; and 3) examine teachers' satisfaction towards training by workshops using teachers’ training package on skills for creating an integrated learning package for Islamic studies with science subjects in Santi Sukas schools, Chiang Mai Province. The target group is 20 teachers who were purposefully selected from Santi Sukas schools. Chiang Mai Province. The research tools consist of 1) teachers’ training package on skills for creating an integrated learning package for Islamic studies with science subjects, and 2) pre- and post-training tests 3) Integrated learning plan evaluation form 4.) teachers’ satisfaction questionnaire. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including percentage, mean, and standard deviation, and t-tests for dependent samples. The study findings showed that there are seven steps involved in developing teachers’ training packages on skills for creating an integrated learning package for Islamic studies with science subjects through participatory means. These are: 1) reviewing relevant theoretical concepts for developing a training package and related training technique documents, 2) creating material based on the ideas for the training package's structure and content, 3) creating a draft version of the teachers’ training (7) package in collaboration with the teachers, 4) evaluating and enhancing the teachers' training package draft by specialists in the field 5) experimenting the training package, 6) develop a final training package, and 7) implementing the training package with the teachers through workshops and evaluating its efficiency values. The level of efficiency of teachers’ training packages on skills for creating an integrated learning package for Islamic studies with science subjects was found to be 90.33/93.17, which is higher than the predetermined criteria of 80/80. The results of using teachers’ training package on skills for creating an integrated learning package for Islamic studies with science subjects showed that teachers have knowledge and understanding about an integrated learning package for Islamic studies with science subjects after training was higher (mean 93.17) than before training (mean 74.33 ) with statistical significance at the 0.05 and teachers have skills in writing integrated learning plan for Islamic studies with science subjects, as reflected in the quality of the learning plan, which obtained very high score (total score of 28/30 points) and the overall level of teachers' satisfaction towards training by workshops using teachers’ training package on skills for creating an integrated learning package for Islamic studies with science subjects in Santi Sukas schools, Chiang Mai Province was very high (mean 4.95).
