Abstract
The objectives of this study were to determine the level of retirement preparation of the staff of City Songkhla Municipality, to compare the retirement preparation of the staff of City Songkhla Municipality classified according to personal factors, and to explore social factors affecting retirement preparation of the staff of City Songkhla Municipality. The sample group was 230 staff of City Songkhla Municipality, and the research instrument was a questionnaire. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis.
The study found that the overall retirement preparation of the staff of City Songkhla Municipality was at a moderate level with the highest mean for housing, followed by finance, health, use of free time, and mental health, respectively. The results of the comparison of retirement preparation of the staff of City Songkhla Municipality classified according to personal factors revealed that the staff of City Songkhla Municipality who were different in age, marital status, and monthly income had different levels of retirement preparation at a statistical significance level of 0.01. Social factors which were information perception, social support, and attitude toward retirement affected the overall retirement preparation of the staff of City Songkhla Municipality at a statistical significance level of 0.01.
