Abstract
This research aims to study the process and mechanism of peace dialogue of Women Networks for Peace in Deep South including understanding about their role in organizing interfaith dialogue that cross between ethnicities, religious, cultures and social status under the context of conflict and violence in Deep South. The methodology applied were reviewing secondary data, deep interview, focus group and observation in three areas which were Phoming village, Pattani; Yupo village, Yala and Kuching Leupa, Narathiwat.
The study found that the dialogue processes of Women Networks for Peace in Deep South on three areas were similar. The results shown that each area had potential to build networks by coordinating with leaders such as women leaders, community leaders and provincial administrative leaders level. Moreover they create capacity-building by providing knowledge in facilitating building up teamwork among women leaders and helping them to build up civil society networks the three studied areas. For the activities, they provided intra and inter-groups which considered as the appropriated process composing of many components which are 1) creating inclusiveness 2) building sense of belonging 3) opening learning process 4) supporting human being 5) having long vision. Besides, there were the specific role of Women Networks for Peace in peace dialogue which were 1) facilitation training for peace dialogue facilitator 2) coordinating with persons impacted from violence both Muslims and Buddhists including government officials of 4 sectors 3) having role of
facilitation in peace dialogue and supporting humanity 4) having role of dialogue which bring about peace building in community.
The peace dialogue brought about participants to change attitude, behavior and regaining relationship. Moreover, the role of Women Networks for Peace was consistent to peace building principles which are 1) building relation to diverse people 2) seeking knowledge and evaluating conflict situation 3) having creative thought for changing conflict 4) accepting risk by going into high conflict area. These roles are the role of peace building. This study also shown that creating space for dialogue is necessary by increasing dialogue space and building capacity for facilitator on peace dialogue.
