Abstract

This research aimed to study the current state and problems in the educational management of Pondok educational institutions in Nong Chik District, Pattani Province, and to delineate the development guidelines for enhancing the educational management of Pondok institutions in Nong Chik District, Pattani Province. This research employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews with representatives from 17 Pondok institutions, each consisting of three participants: one administrator (Toh Guru) and two assistant Toh Gurus, for a total of 51 participants. Additionally, data was collected through questionnaires targeting the 17 administrators (Toh Gurus). The sample was selected through purposive selection. Data was analyzed using content analysis, frequency, mean, and standard deviation. The developmental guidelines for improving the educational management of Pondok institutions were analyzed through content analysis.The results of the research revealed as follows:1) Pondok institutions in Nong Chik District, Pattani Province, primarily use traditional curricula that have been taught for generations. Only a few institutions have incorporated contemporary scholars' texts, particularly those written in the Rumi script. The teaching is conducted by Toh Gurus, and students are required to reside in dormitories. Learning is divided into two parts: Quranic memorization and studying Kitab according to prescribed subjects, with classes held at night. The institutions separate students into younger and older age groups. Teaching materials mainly include textbooks, blackboards, and sound systems. There is limited use of modern educational technology, although some institutions have live-streamed lessons. Most institutions lack a systematic evaluation process, focusing primarily on learning outcomes and memorization skills. Quantitative analysis revealed that educational management of teaching and learning activities in Pondok institutions were rated as low, while evaluation was rated as moderate. Curriculum and media usage were rated as high. Regarding problems, the majority of Pondok institutions face issues such as inadequate funding for staff compensation and facility improvements, discontinuity in education due to students' age and responsibilities, frequent staff turnover, and lack of formal accreditation for students' qualifications. 2) The recommended development guidelines for Pondok institutions in Nong Chik District, Pattani Province, are as follows:Curriculum Development: Pondok institutions should offer vocational courses, such as mechanics, agriculture, tailoring, and electrical work, to provide students with employable skills upon graduation.Teaching and Learning: Instruction should aim to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for life, and a variety of activities should be offered, including religious education and vocational training, in alignment with Islamic principles, to enhance the students' quality of life.Media Usage: Institutions should encourage the use of diverse educational media and technological innovations, such as social media, live streaming, and video recording, to allow students to review lessons.Evaluation: Regular weekly or monthly meetings should be organized for staff to assess students' progress and address any shortcomings, thereby ensuring continual improvement.?????????????????????????????? 1) ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????? ??? 2) ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????? ????????????????????????? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? 17 ?????? ? ?? 3 ?? ?????? ?????????
