Abstract
The objective of the study on quality of work life among the police in the
Investigation Division, Provincial Police Region 9 was to explore quality of work life of the
police in the Investigation Division, Provincial Police Region 9, and to compare factors and
quality of work life of the police in the Investigation Division, Provincial Police Region 9
classified according to personal data. The instrument was a questionnaire with the indexes of
item objective congruence (IOC) of 0.5 or more. Data were gathered from 172 policemen
attached to the Investigation Division, Provincial Police Region 9. The data were analyzed using
percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation, t-test and F-test.
The study found that the quality of work life among the police in the Investigation
Division, Provincial Police Region 9 was at a moderate level. The quality of life in social
integration was with the highest mean, followed by social relationship, organizational democracy,
career security and advancement, balance between work and personal life, adequate and fair
compensation, work safety and environment, and personnel development, respectively.
Regarding police in the Investigation Division, Provincial Police Region 9, age, status, level of
education, rank, line of work, salary, and length of service were factors affecting their work
performance and quality of life with a statistical significance level of 0.05.
