Abstract

This study examines the potential and preparatory approaches for hosting the 2025 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Songkhla Province. A qualitative research methodology was employed, targeting five groups of participants 1.Event Host, 2.Event Organizers, 3.Local Vendors from the private sector, 4.Thai attendees interested in the event (Thai Fans), and 5.International attendees interested in the event (International Fans). The research instruments included observation in conjunction with Focus Group Interviews and Informal Interviews. The findings revealed that Songkhla Province is well-prepared in terms of sports venues, transportation, and accommodations. However, there are limitations related to parking, public transport systems, and first aid stations. In terms of personnel, the province has implemented AI-based security measures and deployed military personnel but still lacks professional crowd management. Regarding support systems, an online ticketing platform and social media promotions are in place, yet traffic and parking remain areas for improvement. The proposed strategies for readiness include utilizing digital systems to streamline operational processes, developing infrastructure, managing budgets, proactive public relations, and enhancing security measures. These strategies aim to ensure the event is organized efficiently and in accordance with international standards.
