Abstract

The objectives of this study were to 1) assess the readiness of health tourism destination in Amphoe Khlong Thom, Changwat Krabi to be developed as a prototype of hot spring-health tourism from tourists' perception, 2) analyze the impact of demographic data factors (gender, age, education and nationality) and behavioral factors of tourists (Number of hot spring destination in Krabi tourist access and time spent to travel in Klong Thom hot springs in Krabi province) on the opinion of readiness of health tourism destination Amphoe Khlong Thom, Changwat Krabi to be developed as a prototype of hot spring-health tourism and 3) investigate the relationship between readiness of hot spring as health tourism destination, overall satisfaction and likelihood to recommend. 400 Questionnaires were collected from both Thai and international tourists at Emerald Pool (Sa Morakot), Hot Spring Waterfall, and Saline Hot Spring in Amphoe Khlong Thom, Changwat Krabi. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics including percentage, mean, standard deviation and multiple regression were used for data analysis. The results showed that in order to assess the readiness of the hot spring as health destination, 6 tourism factors: 1) Tourist attractions, 2) Accessibility, 3) Facilities, 4) Tourist attraction management, 5) Accommodations, and 6) Tourism activities were rated. All factors were rated high. The result of hypothesis testing found Demographic factors; gender, age, education and nationality. Behavior factor; number of hot spring destination in Krabi tourist access had effect on the opinion of readiness of health tourism destination Amphoe Khlong Thom, Changwat Krabi to be developed as a prototype of hot spring-health tourism. The overall satisfaction and the likelihood to recommend were also high. Moreover, tourist attractions, accessibilities and tourism activities had a significant positive relationship with the overall satisfaction and the likelihood to recommend from travelling experience in hot spring tourism destination in Amphoe Khlong Thom, Changwat Krabi.
