Abstract

This research aimed to study cross-cultural competence and creativity at work of LGBT as perceived by government officers in Songkhla Province. The 293 personnel working for local government organizations in Songkhla Province were selected by random sampling, and 100 LGBT people were chosen by purposive sampling as participants of this research. Survey questionnaires were used as research instrument and distributed to all 393 participants. 380 questionnaires were returned, making the return rate of 97%. Descriptive statistics such as frequency distribution, percentage, mean and standard deviation were used to describe personal characteristics of the respondents. One-way ANOVA was employed as the method for comparatively analyzing cross-cultural competence and creativity at work of the samples. The results revealed that: 1. Public servants perceived that the level of cross-cultural competence of LGBT was very high. A comparison of perception on LGBT's cross-cultural competence by demographic factors of public servants revealed that public servants with different genders, religions, job positions, level of current positions and average incomes perceived the level of LGBT's cross-cultural competence differently. These differences were statistically significant. very high. 2. Public servants perceived that the level of creativity at work of LGBT was Findings indicated that public servants with different genders, religions, current job positions and average incomes perceived the level of LGBT's creativity at work differently. These differences were statistically significant.
