Abstract
This purpose of this study aiming to examine identities of adolescents
in the social dimension through spaces of Facebook fan pages. The data of this qualitative and interviews with informants who were Facebook users of three Facebook fan pages: ejeableabduan, drama-addict and CSILA with 60 informants.
The data were then classified according to issues of the study, concluded, and presented using analytical description.
The study found that the Teenagers' identities on Facebook fan pages
were found to derive from their presence or comments on issues in social dimensions through the use of language, letters and symbols on the fan pages teenagers identities could be classified is personal identities and social identities. Teenagers' identities could be into three categories: personal, gender, and personality. Personal identities could be seen through profile pictures and pages' names while gender identities could be seen through comments, emotions, and feelings expressed in the news dimension that indicated whether the users were male or female because most males were interested in news related to sports while most females were interested in news about entertainment. For, personality identities, they could be further divided into three types: sensitive, fun, and aggressive. It was found that comments given through language use and comments on news and information on Facebook fan pages.
Included the co-identities of the teenagers due recognition to the possibility of society to know hot to cold, the news is happening. Content from any unjust authority's social integration as well as to protect the rights of the human person in society. News and other aspects such as health, politics, society brings to knowingly using online social networking to benefit in the near future.
