Abstract
The objectives of this study were to investigate levels of: 1) work efficiency of the village security team; 2) motivational factors to join the village security team; 3) contributing factors of work performance of the village security team; and 4) factors affecting work performance. The subjects of this survey research were 290 members of village security teams in Si Sakhon District, Narathiwat Province. The statistics used in data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, skewness, kurtosis, coefficient, and multiple regression analysis.
The study found that the overall work performance of the village security team was at a high level (x,ˉ = 3.65, S.D. = 0.545); the overall motivational factor to join the village security team was at a high level (x,ˉ = 3.45, S.D. = 0 .463); the overall contributing factor of the village security team was at a high level (x,ˉ = 3.44, S.D. = 0.453); and the overall factor affecting work performance was also at a high level (x,ˉ = 3.45, S.D. = 0.408). When analyzing personal factors, motivational factors and contributing factors affecting work performance of the village security teams, it was found that there was statistical significance at the level of .001(F = 15.894, P < .001) and this could explain 58.00 percent (R2 = .580) of the variance of dependent variables. The personal factor in the length of service had a positive influence at a statistically significant level of .05. Motivational factors in responsibility and personal development had a positive influence at a statistically significant level of .001 while the motivational factor in career development opportunity had a negative influence at a statistically significant level of .05. Contributing factors in intra-organizational relationships and personal work security had a positive influence at a statistically significant level of .001 while contributing factors in policy and management had a negative influence at a statistically significant level of .05
