Abstract
This study aimed (1) to study problems or administration challenges to serve patients, (2) to study administration guidelines to serve patients continuously and safely and (3) to suggest ways to adjust the service administration of the Hypertension and Diabetes Clinic of Chana Hospital under the COVID-19 situation. Key informants in this study were 30 officers in the Hypertension and Diabetes Clinic of Chana Hospital. Data were collected through in-depth interview and focus-group discussion. The results showed that, during the COVID-19 situation, the Hypertension and Diabetes Clinic of Chana Hospital faced three major challenges. These included time management, insufficient space for service provision, long wait time and service-area overcrowding which are not consistent with the safety standard. It is recommended that Chana Hospital improve its crisis management practice to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19 on its operations, reduce the impacts on people’s health, educate and build awareness among the people so that people can be prepared to respond to it. The hospital should also assess the situation and develop measures to respond to it more appropriately.
