Abstract
Abstract
This research aimed to (1) measure the level of public participation in
sustainable tourism management at Phuket Old Town and (2) measure knowledge and understanding of sustainable tourism concepts of the people in the old town area Phuket
In this study, the researchers collected data. By using quantitative research methods And use the storage time once (cross-sectional approach) The sample group includes 250 household members, who live in the old town of Phuket and the old town, Charter Bank, totaling 250 people by using the Krejcie and Morgan sample size calculation formula 1970) to determine the sample size And using Quota Sampling and Convenience Sampling and data analysis using descriptive statistics And inferential statistics such as statistics, percentage (mean), mean (standard deviation), t- test, one way analysis of variance Primary data collection
The results of the study revealed that the participation level in sustainable tourism management of the community of Phuket Old Town And Old Town Charter Bank, Talat Yai Subdistrict, Mueang District, Phuket Province, in the 5 areas in the overall picture, the people are less involved in sustainable tourism management (With an average of 2.46) People participate in information recognition at a moderate level. (With an average of 2.64) and having a low level of participation in information or consultation (The average value is 2.46) In terms of tracking and evaluation (With an average of 2.45) in terms of participation in operations (With a mean of 2.41) and participation in receiving and dividing benefits (With an average of 2.35) The study of the demographic data comparison of people in sustainable
tourism management: a case study of 5 areas of Phuket Old Town found that participation in 1) information perception 2) providing information or consulting 3) 4) In terms of receiving and dividing benefits and 5) overall monitoring and evaluation, people with demography (sex, age, marital status, Career, education level income per month Source of income The duration of living or working in the community) is different. There is a level of opinion on participation in information perception. The results of the study of the knowledge and understanding of the sustainable tourism concept found that in the majority of the population in the community, most had a good knowledge and understanding of tourism at a high level.
