Abstract
Abstract
The purposes of this research were to 1) study the problems and needs related to develop the integrated curriculum 2) develop an integrated curriculum, “Keum-Muk: Sarn-Sard-Sin, traces of culture and wisdom,” Ban Koh Lipe school, satun province. 3) find the efficiency and effectiveness of the integrated curriculum and
4) improve the integrated curriculum. A research was conducted in the form of research and development (R&D), using a mixed method sesearch. The target groups collect data were villagers in koh lipe, folk philosopher, university professors of curriculum, teachers, school boards, and target groups experimental were 23 mathayom 2 students at Ban Koh Lipe school, satun province, 1st semester of the academic year 2022. It took a total of 20 hours to collect the required data. The tools used in this research include interview, focus group discussions the Integrated courses, vocational skills assessment, creative problem-solving ability assessment and a questionnaire on student satisfaction towards the integrated curriculum. Data were analysed by thematic analysis, mean, standard deviation and content analysis.
The results obtained from the research were as follows: 1) The analysis of the basic data and needs for the development of the integrated curriculum found that a curriculum should be developed using the knowledge and local wisdom that emphasizes on career skills and the ability to solve problems creatively. 2) The results of the development of the integrated curriculum have 3 parts namely: 1) The integrated curriculum has 9 elements as follows: background, principles, aims, and additional course descriptions, content structure, class time, organizing learning activities, media/learning resources, and measurement and evaluation 2) curriculum manual 3) learning units and learning management plans whereby there are 3 learning units and 10 learning management plans. 3) The overall results of the evaluation on the efficiency of integrated curriculum indicated an efficiency value of E1/E2 which equal to 77.85/81.89 higher than the specified criteria. In term of the effectiveness, professional skills (𝑥̅ = 4.17, S.D. = 0.19) and creative problem solving competency
(𝑥̅ = 4.01, S.D. = 0.11) at a high level of 2 variables. Students were satisfied with the overall integrated curriculum in all 4 areas at a high level. and 4) In terms of improving the integrated curriculum, there were 3 issues that should be improved namely: class time, organizing learning activities and media/learning resources suited with the school context.
