Abstract

The purposes of this research were to : 1) compare the Thai word reading-aloud skills of Grade 1 students before and after instruction using the 2W3P instructional technique, and 2) examine the students� satisfaction with the 2W3P instructional technique in developing their Thai word reading-aloud skills. The research employed a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 37 Grade 1/2 students from Sree Banglang Witthayanusorn School during the second semester of the 2024 academic year. The sample was selected using a cluster sampling method, with the classroom serving as the sampling unit. The research instruments included: (1) instructional lesson plans designed according to the 2W3P instructional model; (2) a Thai word reading-aloud proficiency test; and (3) a student satisfaction questionnaire concerning the 2W3P instructional technique, utilizing a 3-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, and t-test statistics.The research results were as follows:1. Students� post-test scores in Thai word reading-aloud skills were significantly higher than their pre-test scores at the .05 level of significance. And the instructional plans based on the 2W3P technique, designed to enhance Thai word reading-aloud skills, consisted of four lesson plans, each covering four subtopics and implemented over a two-hour session. The plans were evaluated by experts and determined to be highly appropriate in terms of alignment with learning standards, indicators, content, and learning activities.2. Students expressed a high level of overall satisfaction with the 2W3P instructional technique, with a mean score of 2.77 and a standard deviation of 0.53.
