Abstract

The research on factors influencing the sufficiency of money in retirement for state enterprise official’s provincial electricity authority, region 3 (southern region), Yala province was purposed to study factors influencing the sufficiency of retirement money of PEA officials and retirement savings behavior. The data was obtained from collecting data from 323 officials of the Provincial Electricity Authority, Region 3 (Southern Region), Yala Province, analyzing by T-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression. The results of the study showed that the sample group had the frequency of saving once or two times a month. The amount of savings per month was approximately 3,000 - 5,000 baht or more, and the period for saving was more than 5 years. Each target group chose savings in the form of provident funds. The average monthly savings ratio was 15-20% of income, and the main objective was for retirement. In terms of personal factors, it was found that gender, age, status, education level, average monthly income, and number of family members had different levels of retirement fund adequacy for PEA employees. There were different perception factors about saving in terms of saving attitude, rate of return, investment risk tolerance, and personal financial planning. Factors influencing the adequacy of retirement money were economic factors, including inflation, interest rates, and socio-economic factors. In addition, saving perception factors such as rate of return and financial skills influenced the sufficiency of retirement money of PEA employees, statistically significant at the 0.05 level. However, the results from the research can be used as basic information for training and knowledge about financial planning in order to be able to apply it in everyday life more efficiently. There should be a policy for employees to participate in financial skill surveys every year to know the development of the level of financial skills. The mentioned information is used to formulate a developmental policy to promote financial skills develop developmental policies to promote financial skills.
