Abstract: | This survey was aimed at (1) investigating the leadership levels of female administrators of private Islamic schools under the Office of the Private Education of Narathiwat, (2) comparing their leadership levels based on the perceptions of their school employees by categorizing into different working experiences and school sizes, and (3) providing the guidelines for promoting their leadership. The sample included 265 participants covering 17 school directors and 248 in-service teachers and employees at the private Islamic schools with female administrators under the Office of the Private Education of Narathiwat. Data were collected through unstructured interviews and questionnaires. Percentage, means, standard deviations and F-test were applied in data analysis. The findings indicated the following: 1. The leadership levels of the female administrators were found high both overall and in particular aspects with the exception of the learning leadership which was shown at a moderate level. 2. Through the perceptions of the school teachers and employees with different working experiences in schools of different sizes, the female administrators’ leadership levels were considered differently both as a whole and in specific aspects. 3. The following leadership styles were suggested as the guidelines for promoting the female administrators’ leadership levels: authoritative, supportive, participative, achievement-oriented, and learning. |
