Objective
Khunying Long Athakravisunthorn Learning Resources Center, the Main Library, initiated the Prince of Songkla University Knowledge Bank (PSUKB) project in 2008 with a vision to be the repository that collects and preserves the knowledge body of Prince of Songkla University and also acts as a publisher of life-long learning resources. Dspace software and Dublin Core standards were used for operating PSUKB. For the long-term availability of digital information and under the same standards, The Library developed a digital preservation plan as follows:
- Enhance understanding involved in digital information management to librarians and other staff.
- Establish processes and procedures under relevant standards to support digital information preservation in ways that best manage current resources and can be sustained into the future.
- Identify, through systematic selection, physical and digital materials to be digitally preserved across formats, and apply appropriate strategies.
- Provide access to digital materials while respecting and upholding intellectual property rights.
- Review and assess digital preservation policies and procedures regularly, accounting for changes in available technology, resources, and needs.
